Reading Job Logs

About this Page

The Job Logs page in the Revyz app is your central hub for monitoring and troubleshooting all automated tasks. It provides a detailed, line-by-line history for every job that is triggered, giving you complete visibility into the application's operations.

This page is essential for diagnosing issues. If a job fails or encounters a problem, the logs provide the specific error messages and context needed to understand the root cause.

Details of tracking activity

Each log provides granular details to help you track activity and troubleshoot effectively:

Detailed Actions

You can see a step-by-step account of what the job did (e.g., "Starting backup," "Connecting to repository," "Snapshot created successfully").

Timestamps

Every log entry is time-stamped, allowing you to see exactly when an action occurred and how long the job took to run.

Status Indicators

Clear messages indicate success, failure, or warnings for each step, making it easy to scan for problems.

Job types tracked

The Job Logs page consolidates the history for the three main types of automated jobs in Revyz. You can typically filter the page to view logs for a specific job type:

Backup Job Logs

These logs show the complete history of your backup operations. You can use them to verify that backups are completing successfully and all data is being captured as expected.

Restore Job Logs

When you restore data, these logs track the entire process from initiation to completion. They are critical for confirming that data has been successfully recovered to the correct destination.

Cleanup Actions Job Logs

These logs detail the activity of your data lifecycle and cleanup policies, such as the automatic deletion of old or redundant snapshots. This provides an audit trail for data management.
