Special Handling for JPD projects

This guide provides instructions for temporarily adjusting permission settings to ensure the Revyz app has sufficient access to create work items during a restore. Following these steps helps prevent job failures caused by restricted user permissions in your destination environment.

Revyz work item restore job might fail if the Revyz app user lacks access to create work items in the JPD project. Steps to follow to temporarily adjust settings to allow the Revyz app to create work items.To avoid this, please follow the steps below before restoring work items in JPD projects.

This will provide access to Revyz user so that work items can be created and restored successfully. 

Customers must temporarily adjust their JPD project settings to fix this issue:

  • Step 1: Navigate to Destination Project: Go to the specific JPD project where the restore is being attempted.

  • Step 2: Access Project Settings: Click on Project Settings > Features.

  • Step 3: Enable "Create Ideas": Find the Create Ideas section.

  • Step 4: Toggle "Allow Contributors": Enable the switch that allows contributors to create ideas.

  • Step 5: Trigger Restore: Go the Revyz app again and select the JPD data/issues you previously attempted to restore. Run the restore job again. The job should now complete successfully.

  • Step 6: Revert Settings: Once the restore is successful, the customer can toggle the "Allow Contributors" setting back to its original state.
