Clone configurations

  • Configurations clone allows to clone user selected Jira configuration objects from your source site to destination site or self site.

  • Click on Clone Configuration in left navbar - > Click on Configurations clone in top navbar

Select snapshot for source site, click on “Next

  • Select destination site details i.e self site or other site for cross site restore

  • All the sites which is connected through cross site connections will be listed here so you can choose same site or other sites on which you want to clone the data

  • Select snapshot & Click on “Compare snapshot”

  • It will identify changes in Jira configuration objects & gives detail information about object status, present in source snapshot, present in destination snapshot & Diff view

    • Object status: Object status describes status of the objects & it could be:

      • CREATED

      • MODIFIED

      • NO CHANGE

      • NOT PRESENT ON SOURCE

      • NOT PRESENT ON DESTINATION

        • Also you can filter object status for modified, no change & Not present on destination

  • Diff view: Diff view describes the difference of destination before clone & destination after clone

    • Created - It will show content in green color

    • Modified - It will show content in yellow color

    • Deleted - It will show content in Red color

  • Select object you want to clone & click on review dependencies

  • It will show user selected object with its dependency(if any)

    • E.g. Issue type is associated to issue type scheme

  • Click on Review

  • On Review page, You can see user selected object, Action needs to be taken & diff view

    • Actions needs to be taken - It describes what type of action needs to be taken while restoring selected object & actions could be:

      • NO ACTION REQUIRED

      • CREATE

      • MODIFY

      • CREATE NOT SUPPORTED

      • UPDATE NOT SUPPORTED

      • UPDATE WORKFLOW CONDITION

  • In above example, selected issue type action is CREATE as issue type is created on destination site

  • Click on “Clone“. Confirm site name & click on “Clone“

  • You can see triggered restored job on Jobs page
