Restore (Disaster Recovery)

What is this feature?

This tool allows you to select and copy your core Jira configurations, such as workflows, custom fields, and permission schemes. It packages these settings so they can be replicated on another Jira instance.

What is the use case?

The primary use case is migrating your instance settings to a new Jira site or creating a staging/test environment. This saves countless hours by ensuring your new instance's configuration matches the old one.

Here is what each function allows you to do:

  • Clone Jira configuration This tool replicates your core Jira settings. It's used to copy foundational elements like workflows, custom fields, and permission schemes from one instance to another.

  • Clone configurations associated to Projects This lets you select one or more projects and copy all the specific configuration schemes linked to them. It's the perfect way to standardize a new project based on an existing one.

  • Assets configuration This feature allows you to capture and replicate your entire Jira Service Management (JSM) Assets setup. It copies your Assets objects, schemas, and all their configurations.

  • Automation rules This clones your native Jira automation rules. This is critical for preserving your business process logic during a migration or for recovering from an incident.
